A very strange coincidence happened to me today.
Someone liked a family picture of mine, which I uploaded about three years ago. Thanks to the like, I had a chance to go through the comments I had to the picture.
For some reason, a name caught my attention and thought about the person, wondering when was the last time we had a chat, because we quite often had online conversation in schMOOze University. She was one of the first friends I made in schMOOze University, an online ESL/EFL MOO(http://schmooze.hunter.cuny.edu/).
I clicked her name and went to her Facebook page. To my surprise, she had passed away in 2015. I have no idea why I missed her obituary. She left her comment to my family picture, one year before her death, saying that I had a beautiful family.
A more strange coincidence is that this all happened on her birthday. I guess she needed my attention or wanted someone to play scrabble with, which we often played online at schMOOze U.
Dorine Houston, a.k.a. TeaRose among schMOOzers, rest in peace. I’m sorry I overlooked the news of your passing.
This is her description she wrote for herself at schMOOze:
“TeaRose is a tall, queenly woman with chestnut hair, sparkling dark eyes, and a radiant smile. She loves good food and wine, and good books. Above all, she loves friends.
She is sleeping.”
